The final match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup is to be played on March 8 (International Women’s Day) between hosts Australia and India at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
In this tournament, the rain disappointed on a few occasions. During both semi-final matches, Rains became a villain, in which the first semi-final match between India and England was not even tossed. In the second semi-final match, the result came from the Duckworth Louis method due to rain. The good news for cricket fans is that rain will not be seen in the final match.
According to the Meteorological Department, there is no risk of rain in Melbourne on Sunday and there will be good sunshine. The sky is expected to remain clear even though there may be a slight cold in the evening but there is little chance of rain. It is also a relief for the final that Reserve Day has been kept for this. If there is no match due to rain, the match will be held on Monday on Reserve Day.
There was no such arrangement in the semi-finals. The semi-final match between India and England was washed out due to rain and India made it to the finals due to their superior group record. The second semi-final between Australia and South Africa was also affected by rain but Australia won the title match by defeating South Africa by five runs under the Duckworth Lewis rule.
