‘Shoot the traitors’ slogans raised at Delhi’s Rajiv Chowk Metro station day after riots.

At Delhi’s busiest metro station Rajiv Chowk this afternoon, Six youth were held for raising provocative slogans ‘Shoot the traitors of the country’ at Rajiv Chowk Metro Station on Saturday afternoon. They were subsequently released, police said. 

A video of a group shouting “Shoot the traitors” went viral on social media.

The police said that six boys were found raising the slogans, after which they were detained and interrogated. The boys were released later. “The boys detained were found to be students. They had no criminal predecessors and were released after due diligence,” said a senior police officer.

The incident has come to light after the Delhi violence in which 42 people have been claimed to have been killed and many others injured.

Similar slogans were also heard during the Delhi election campaign by BJP’s Anurag Thakur, who is the Minister of State in the Finance Ministry, after which he was banned from campaigning for 72 hours.

As Delhi is slowly returning to normalcy, the Kejriwal-led AAP government on Saturday issued an advisory asking people to report hate messages circulating on WhatsApp and other social media pages. is.

Earlier on Friday, the Delhi Police had said that strict action will be taken against those who are spreading provocative statements, spreading hate messages, or spreading rumors to incite violence in the national capital.
